There are many not-for-profit and government agencies that provide a wide range of services to assist people with chronic illness and disability.

Most local libraries offer a free home library service for the housebound

Home library services offer a range of resources, such as:

  • large print and regular books
  • fiction and non-fiction books
  • audio books
  • magazines
  • items in community languages
  • jigsaw puzzles
  • CDs and DVDs

Libraries SA also offer online lending

Over 40,000 ebooks and audio books are available for temporary download, plus digital magazines and newspapers, and online learning modules. Further information can be found on their website.

Your library card also gives you access to Kanopy, which streams free movies, series and documentaries.
