Artist Comments

For this still life I wanted to experiment with bright colours. For me colour is the most important and exciting element when making art. While initially sketching the bananas I noticed how interesting the shadow was on the table, so decided to make a feature of this in my final artwork. 

Description of the artwork

This watercolour painting is a still life of two bananas painted in bright neon colours. The bananas are predominantly yellow but have shadows in green, pink, indigo and purple. The background is painted in pale aqua.
