TOPIC: Mobility aids and ME - OT process and considerations. Molly will discuss key considerations for the ME population, and pro's and con's of various mobility aids. Examples of various types of aids will be presented with a focus on powered mobility aids features and considerations.
Molly is an Occupational Therapist with 12 years experience in the adult disability space, having previously worked at Disability SA and then in adult community private practice. With her husband, Caelum they started Lofty Health and Wellness in 2022 to provide allied health services specialising in helping people with POTS; EDS and other connective tissue disorders; ME/CFS; and other types of dysautonomia and invisible illness.
In supporting people living with a disability in their chosen daily tasks, Molly has completed a number of basic and complex equipment prescriptions, including various types of mobility aids. She has a strong interest in supporting people with equipment, environmental, and lifestyle strategies to enhance their participation and quality of life.
