Seminar: Dr Ros Vallings, GP Specialist in ME/CFS
Topic: Highlights of the IACFS/ME Conference US, held on 19-21 August 2021.
Dr Vallings
Dr Vallings has been a GP in Auckland, New Zealand, since 1966 with most of her patients having ME/CFS and/or related conditions.
She is medical adviser to the Associated New Zealand ME Society, ANZMES.
Dr Vallings has had a tremendous impact on the clinical management of people with ME/CFS. This includes contributing to each of the three diagnostic and management guidelines that have been recommended for use in Australia by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC): the Canadian Consensus Criteria (CCC), International Consensus Criteria (ICC), and Paediatric Primer.
IACFS/ME Conference
The International Association of CFS/ME Conference 2021 focused on the biomedical, public health, and behavioral aspects of ME/CFS and associated comorbidities.
A portion of the meeting was also devoted to COVID-19 and its relevance to ME/CFS research and clinical care.
Attendees at the IACFS/ME Conference included biomedical and behavioral professionals, including clinicians, researchers, and educators. People affected by ME/CFS and their supporters also attended.

Dr Vallings shared highlights from the IACFS/ME Conference.
She was an interesting speaker and provided an informative and easy-to-comprehend overview of some of the conference presentations, including Long COVID.
